Obituary for JoAnn D Reagan (Pappas)

Jo Ann Dorothy Reagan, born April 4, 1930, died October 30, 2017.

She was born April 4th, 1930 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, CO and was raised by her grandparents John & Mary Messner. John, her grandfather was classified as a saint of a man according to Jo Ann and Mary, her grandmother was a tough Irish woman.
Growing up she liked to play the piano, ice skate and ride her Schwinn bicycle. She also love to dance and was the star on the singing Christmas Tree at Denver West High School. She attended Presentation Catholic School through eighth grade and Denver West High School until her high school graduation. During her high school years she worked at a cafeteria where she said the servicemen that came in used to flirt with her.

From there she went onto work at Mountain Bell Phone Company and became a supervisor in the Treasury Department. A couple of years later she met William Reagan at the Young Peoples Club, where he was playing in a basketball game. Jo Ann's first impression of William was that he was a hotheaded Irishman. Later on she caught his eye at the bowling ally. From then on they became friends and were married on September 23rd, 1950 at Presentation Church. Four days later Dad was drafted into the army.
Two years later they started a family, they had six children; five daughters and one son (Maggie, Katie, Sally, Susie, Grace and Jim). During her children's teenage years she worked at K Mart for several years.

She was the best Mom, loving, giving, kind, caring, selfless. Her dedication to her family and anyone who needed help always went beyond the call of duty. Jo Ann was a wonderful grandmother, her and Dad (William), took in three grandchildren and raised them as their own. While raising her grandchildren she worked at Kings Soopers in the bakery department for over a decade. She always made sure there was a family member watching her boys a home. In her life she was willing to give whatever she had and sometimes what she didn't have in order to make sure they had the best opportunities growing up. She would go out of her way to attend sporting events and school activities for her kids, grand kids and great grand kids.

She will be missed by the love of her life William of sixty seven years, along with all of her family and friends.

Rest Peacefully Mom and now you can be reunited with your sweet daughter Susie. We love you always
