Obituary for Ruby Irene Hoeppner

Ruby Irene Hoeppner
RUBY IRENE (LINSCOTT) HOEPPNER
December 24, 1941 -- January 4, 2018

Ruby Irene Linscott was a Christmas present to her parents, Margaret and Desler Linscott, when she was born December 24, 1941 at St. Lukes Hospital in Montrose, Colorado. She passed away January 4, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. She attended Oak and Maple Grove elementary schools and graduated from Montrose County High School with honors and scholarship in 1959. She retired in 2015 after working for the U.S. Department of Interior for 27 years, both in the Bureau of Land Management and Minerals Management Service. Previously she had worked at the First National Banks in Montrose, Grand Junction, Salt Lake City and Arvada.

Ruby was an elegant dignified personality who cared very much about her husband and family. She was a seamstress extraordinaire, sewing clothes, Christmas items, and toys. Her daughters and their dolls were always dressed in her wonderful creations. She belonged to a local doll club for years and had a wonderful doll collection. She was interested in all things Disney and loved traveling with her children and grandchildren. She was nuts about her nutcrackers and could decorate for any holiday with an appropriate nutcracker display. She closely followed current politics and was extremely well read on the subject.

In December, 1963, she married Harold Hoeppner. They were blessed with 3 daughters, Christine (Gregory) Cook, children Logan and Sadie; Cynthia Hoeppner; Cheryl (Michael Hopkins) Hoeppner, children Allison and Liam; all of whom survive her. She is also survived by sisters, Ruth (Jim) Burlison of Olathe and Peggy (Gerald) Hoeppner of Salt Lake, and brother, Howard (Jeralyn) Linscott of Ridgway, and an extensive family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Hoeppner, and her parents. Services will be held Wednesday, January 10, 11 a.m. at the Aspen Mortuary Memorial Chapel, 1350 Simms Street, Lakewood, Colorado.
