Obituary of Kimberlynn Phipps

Kimberlynn Phipps was born on June 18, 1957 to Vanda and Janet Lyman. She achieved her greatest victory, meeting our Lord and Savior face to face, on February 3, 2022 at the age of 64. Kim was an extremely talented quilter generously giving of her time and talents to many long-time friends and family whom she loved dearly. She loved her daughter and granddaughters more than anything. If you ever couldn†™t find her, you could bet she was outside sitting by her fish pond. During her career, she was a very sought-after travel agent who most notably coordinated travel arrangements for the Denver Nuggets and the Denver Bears. She later returned to her initial passion of teaching with a focus on elementary education and literacy after she achieved both her bachelor's and master†™s degrees. She left a lasting impression on many students and was never more alive than she was in the classroom. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and fought fiercely for a few years of reprieve before it returned in June of 2019. She was the greatest inspiration, never giving up hope. She loved with pure joy and strength. She never stopped fighting, but she also fought every battle in prayer and gave God all the glory for the small victories along the way. Some might think that she eventually lost the battle, but no, she finally won. She received the ultimate prize and is now able to see her grandbabies grow better than she ever was here on earth. She won the race to meet Jesus and left nothing but beauty in her wake. She gave each of us a piece of her whether through something she made (crocheting, cross stitching, knitting, sewing or quilting), her always positive attitude, a kind word, a lesson she taught her students, or just the gift of being in her presence. She was the ultimate demonstration of strength of hope. Until we see her again, we know she is watching over us, showering everyone that was blessed to know her with all her love. She will be deeply missed by surviving family Vanda, Janet, Curtis & Mike Lyman; Gary Phipps; Brianna, Siena & Collins Ricciardi and many more family and friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on February 21st 2022 at Aspen Mortuaries - 6370 Union Street, Arvada CO 80004.
