Obituary of Karen Louise Kruger

Karen L. Kruger, age 63, passed away in the early morning of Saturday June 10, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Denver. She was born June 16, 1959, in Denver to George ‘Maxey’ Ray and Venita Ray, along with her younger brother Charlie Ray. She was a second generation Lakewood High School Alumni, graduating in 1978, and afterwards attended The Colorado Institute of Art. For many years she worked as an Early Childhood Education Para, she always said working with children filled her heart with joy, and made it so she was able to play all day. Karen truly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; a game of cards late into the night with friends, a good puzzle, a hot apple cider on a snowy day, and turning absolutely anything into beautiful art. Karen had an uncanny ability to bring out the creativity in all those around her.

She is survived by her two children and their families; Kayla, Philip, and Harper Keller as well as Brittany, Christopher, and Skylar Brunker. Family, friends, and others whose lives Karen touched are invited to Aspen Mortuaries, 1350 Simms St. Golden 80401, at 1 pm on Friday June 23, 2023, to reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course just chat.
