Cheryl McPherron

Obituary of Cheryl Ann McPherron

Cheryl Ann McPherron, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away in her home on June 13, 2023, after a brief battle with glioblastoma. She was born to Franklin Fowler and June Fowler in Dallas, Texas. When she was two years old, they moved to Colorado, where she and her younger brother were raised. Many a summer were spent in Texas, however, and she had strong ties to Texas her whole life. She attended college in Oklahoma and during that time she was able to travel abroad and visit Israel. She then received her bachelors in secondary education. Always full of life and energy, she spontaneously moved to Alaska to join her brother. There, she had many adventures in the frozen tundra, married, and had two children. Then, the family relocated back to Colorado, where she worked as a legal secretary and hospital administrative assistant. She later successfully became a realtor in the Arvada area, and also remarried. While supporting and being an outstanding mother to her two children, she also was a loving and wonderful daughter, taking tender care of her mother whenever it was needed, and staying in close contact with her father.

Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Leif McPherron, her two children, Carl (Danielle) Hoopes, and Talvikki (Donald) McCuskey, and eight grandchildren. Cheryl had many talents and accomplishments, as her keen intellect was always brimming just under the surface of her bubbly wit and beauty. She had a magnificent eye for beauty, which was seen not only in her beautiful clothes and appearance, but also in her eye for interior design and renovating her rentals, and in every aspect of her life. She always excelled at school, including becoming proficient in French, a love which she passed down to her daughter. She loved tennis and was an excellent player. She was a beautiful pianist though she would rarely share her talent with others. She was an avid reader, with reading being one of her main pastimes.

Cheryl’s biggest accomplishment in life, however, was surely how she loved people, and her great faith in Christ. She loved to listen to people, to hear their life stories, and to be a shoulder to lean on. She was generous and kind to everyone she knew. She loved animals and cared for them deeply. She was adored by her two children and grandchildren. She was a funny, loving, tender, and amazing mother. Her laugh, smile, wisdom, and beautiful presence will be missed everyday. She is with her Savior now, and her family and friends will forever honor this precious woman and her immutable legacy.
