Obituary of Charlie Tavenner

Charles "Charlie" Tavenner passed away on July 17th, 2023 at
at the age of 75, at home in Westminster, Colorado.

 Charles was born on February 16,1948 in Denver, Colorado. The oldest of 4 children. 

He attended South High School graduating in 1966. After graduation he hired on at Rio Grande Railroad as a Switchman, eventually becoming a Yardmaster, the position he retired from in 2006.

He married the love of his life Becky in 1971, They had 2 children, Christine and Charles "Ryan" Tavenner. He was the proud Papa of 3 grandchildren  Alyssa, Dawn and Charlie whom he loved so very much.

Charlie had many hobbies; he enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing and gambling. Loved fast cars since he was old enough to drive. He was always wanting to race, it didn't matter where as long as it was fast. In recent years he started racing at Bandimere Speedway, winning a trophy that he was very proud of.

He is survived by his wife Becky. Daughter Christine, Son
Ryan and Grandchildren  Alyssa, Dawn and Charlie. Son inlaw
Mike Glickman and Daughter inlaw Erin Tavenner. Sister Elaine Lewis (Dwon Lewis), brother Jon Tavenner. He was preceded in death by his Parents Darrell and Phyllis Tavenner and younger Brother Danny Rae.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. August 12, 2023 at Aspen Mortuary, located at 6370 Union St. Arvada CO. Following the service please join family and friends to celebrate Charlie's life. Lunch will be served at Seacrest Recreation Center from 1:00 to 5:00 located at 6820 W. 66th Ave, Arvada CO.
