Marvin Parker

Obituary of Marvin F. Parker

Marvin Parker was born on December 7,1933 in Edgewater, Co, one of four children of Frank and Marjorie (Bullock) Parker. He was born at home and lived his entire life in the Edgewater and Lakewood area.

Marvin was married to Lynda Peoples Parker from 1959 until her death from Alzheimer’s in 2020. In her final years, Marvin visited Lynda daily at her care facility. Marvin and Lynda were long-time members of the Arvada Elks and

enjoyed travel through CO and the SW.

Marvin served in the Army as Private First-Class from 1953 to 1955 with the 10th Mountain Hut Division at Camp Hale CO. For many years, he was a truck driver who hauled pre-cast concrete materials for large construction projects throughout CO. He also was a millwright, working with industrial machines and equipment. He continued to work part-time in a variety of jobs until he fully retired at the age of 80.

Marvin was father of five, four sons and one daughter; grandfather of three; and great grandfather of seven.

Marvin loved to fish, garden, bowl and restore old cars. He was known throughout the Lakewood area for his bright yellow 1938 Chevy convertible. He owned the vehicle for over 50 years and loved taking it to car shows and driving it around town.

Marvin’s family is grateful for the caring staff at Applewood Our House and Brighton Hospice.

A light luncheon will be served after the memorial service and prior to the interment at the Arvada Elks Lodge, 5700 Yukon St, Arvada, CO 80002.
