In Loving Memory of Jacqueline J Rapp
Jackie Rapp passed away peacefully on August 22, two weeks after she celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends.
Jackie was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Grace and Harold Heath. Upon graduation from high school in Omaha, Jackie attended the University of Nebraska, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She moved to Colorado and began a 13-year career teaching art to junior high students in the Denver Public School system. She loved skiing, tennis, traveling, and animals.
But most of all, she loved her husband Joe Rapp, whom she met when they were both on faculty at the same school. They enjoyed a very happy marriage for 49 years. Joe passed away on February 19, 2018.
Jackie is survived by her three stepchildren, Betsy, Tom and Jim Rapp; three grandsons Simon, Brady and Ryan; nephew Doug Smith (Barbara) and niece Diane Bateson. She was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Smith and brother-in-law Dick Smith.
She is also survived by friends including Marcy Wuertz, Marilyn Hecht and Christine Arbogast, who provided love, support and laughter during Jackie’s recent years. They and all her knew her will remember her lovely smile, her kindness, and her fierce determination.
A celebration in her memory will be held on Saturday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at Brookdale Tamarac,
8030 E. Girard Ave. in Denver. She will be interred with her husband Joe at Fort Logan Cemetery.
