Obituary of Russell E Carey

Russell Carey, age 95, of Lakewood, Colorado, passed away Saturday, September 23rd. He is reunited with his wife of 69 years, Virginia Carey, who he loved and missed very much. He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Kunovic (husband Dave), and Cindy Pulver (husband Robert). He also had 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was born in Denver, Colorado on March 4th, 1928 to Carolyn & Alva Carey.  Russ graduated from Westwood High School and attended 2 years of college so that he could work as a draftsman. Russ was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors and friends.

Russ worked for the Colorado State Highway Department for 31 years, which enabled him to retire at 55 years old.  Prior to the State job, he worked for the Railroad. Russ enjoyed camping, traveling, woodworking, reading, and playing golf (he even shot a hole in one!). 
                     

He will be greatly missed.
