Frieda Frawley

Obituary of Frieda A Frawley

Frieda Frawley

Frieda Anne Frawley passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023.

She was born in Helena, Montana on August 19,1956. She lived in Great Falls Montana until moving to Lakewood, Colorado in 1969 where she lived a good portion of her life before moving to Arvada.

Frieda was pre-deceased by her husband, Daniel J. Frawley. She is survived by her two children with her first husband Steven Draper, son Robert Draper (Autum Archuleta) and daughter Amy Parker (Jared Trembath) in addition to her two beloved granddaughters, Cassie Draper and Breana Parker.

Frieda had a very successful career in Quality Control which started with her employment at COBE Laboratories. It was there that she met her second husband, Dan Frawley and they enjoyed over 30 years of marriage before Dan’s passing. Upon leaving COBE she continued her career at Exabyte Corporation for many years before accepting a position as a Manager of Quality Control and Training at Sun Microsytems. She then went on to a Quality position with E.N. Murray until her retirement.

Her children and granddaughters were the light of her life. She made sure she was passing on traditions to her “girls” as she called them such as the traditional Christmas Cookie baking extravaganza and the planting of beautiful flowers in the garden. She never missed an opportunity to watch them in school plays, or band recitals and was proud of every achievement, no matter how small.

Frieda had many hobbies which she readily shared with others. She was an expert baker and never failed to share the fruits of her labor. She was a self taught quilter and many people have beautiful quilts she made that were personalized just for them. She was also a wonderful cook who has passed on her most requested recipes so they can continue to be served at all family get-togethers. Her garden was also her happy place and she waited patiently every year for the arrival of her beloved daises and poppies.

She loved camping and 4-wheeling in the mountains with Dan and their dog. She also was just as happy on a beach in the Cayman Islands playing a killer game of gin rummy. They also enjoyed several cruises and a trip to Ireland and New Zealand. Her and Dan also enjoyed the monthly car cruises in Golden every month during the summer in their 1970 Mustang Convertible.

Frieda was and will continue to be much loved and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She had an infectious laugh and a zest for fun and life that you could not help but be drawn into. Her practical jokes were legendary and will carry on in the memories of many people.
