Obituary of Ann Lane
Ann Lane, 93, died September 2, 2023 in Denver CO. Ann was born July 3, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to David and Lucile (Maze) Finkelstein.
She moved to Colorado Springs in January 1954 and shortly after arriving met the love of her life, Ken Lane, on a blind date. They were married September 4, 1954. They lived most of their married life in Denver. They had 3 daughters. Ann enjoyed doing arts and crafts, volunteering at the girls’ schools, and was very active at her church, First Plymouth Congregational. She was a surrogate mom to many of her daughters’ friends from school, church and Jobs Daughters, Bethel 36.
In 1988 Ann became the administrator of Kentucky Circle Village, an independent living community for seniors. She (finally) retired 4 days before her 84th birthday in 2014.
Ann was a smart, funny and feisty woman who loved her family fiercely. She loved to cook and bake for them, especially her famous soft and chewy gingersnaps!
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ken. She is survived by her daughters, Leigh (Bob) Green, Alison (Alan) Sparks and Kara (Adam) Bartolik; six grandchildren, Eric Green, Jeff (Michele) Green, Elizabeth (Matt) Sparks-Hicks, Hannah (Sean) Wolf, Philip (Tesa) Pitts-Vaughan and Gordon Bartolik; five great-granddaughters and three great-great-granddaughters. She is also survived by her three sisters, Margaret, Dianne and Sandi as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m. at Sixth Avenue United Church of Christ, 3250 E 6th Ave, Denver CO. The church is in a residential neighborhood and parking is on-street, so please consider a ride share, or carpooling. After the service there will be a reception at the church.
