Lois v. Schneider 


On January the fifth, 2024 Lois Venus Schneider (Ownsabre) was called home. She loved life and chose happiness no matter what. She had a great sense of humor,  loved life and, chose to be an optimist throughout her life. She was artistic and enjoyed working with her hands. 

She was a proud member of the Cheyenne River Sioux tribe. Her native culture was a cornerstone of her life. She stayed involved within the Native American Community of Colorado. 

At her Native American blessing. 

Family was told that her sister and brothers’ spirits were there guarding her. Her sister told her it’s time to come home Lois. Her spirit was guided by her brothers and her big sis walking her home. Her ashes will be laid to rest at a later date. 

She was proceeded in death by her mother Thelma J. Franks and daughter Varina L. Ownsabre. Her siblings Karen Y. Owns the Sabre- Mares, Paul Dwayne Owns the Sabre and,Theodore Dwayne Ownsabre. 

She is survived by her daughters Denise and Nina. Grandchildren Andrew, Christopher, Adrian, Mario and, Jesse.

Great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews of the Ownsabre family.
